Collecting sealed One Piece Card Game product is a long game. Whether you’re keeping a booster box to open on a special day or holding it as a collectible, condition matters. A dented corner, faded print or torn shrink-wrap can make a big difference to how a box looks and how much it’s worth later. The good news is that protecting sealed product is easy once you know the basics.

The four enemies of sealed product: sunlight, humidity, heat and pressure. Control those and your boxes will stay in great shape for years.

1. Keep it out of the light

UV light fades printed boxes surprisingly quickly, even through a window. Store sealed product in a cupboard, a closed shelf or a room with no direct sun. If you display your boxes, use UV-protected acrylic cases and keep them away from windows.

2. Control humidity and temperature

  • Aim for a cool, dry room with a stable temperature
  • Avoid attics, garages, basements and spots near radiators or air vents
  • In humid climates, add a few silica gel packs to your storage box or use a dehumidifier
  • Sudden temperature swings can cause condensation inside the wrap

3. Use protective cases

ProductRecommended protection
Booster boxFitted acrylic or heavy-duty plastic box case
Single booster packsPack sleeves or rigid toploaders made for packs
Starter DecksSnug plastic cases or storage bins with padding
Bulk sealed stockSturdy cardboard or plastic bins, stored flat

4. Avoid pressure and stacking damage

  • Don’t stack heavy items on top of sealed boxes
  • Store boxes upright or in small stacks so the bottom box isn’t crushed
  • Keep a little space around each box so corners don’t get dented
  • Handle boxes by the sides, not by squeezing the top

5. Keep the shrink-wrap intact

For collectors, factory shrink-wrap is part of the product’s value: it shows the box has never been opened. Never remove it from a box you plan to keep sealed, and be careful with sharp objects, rings and price stickers. If you must label a box, put the label on the outer case, not on the wrap.

6. Keep a simple inventory

Note what you own, when you bought it and what you paid. It helps with insurance, makes your collection easier to manage, and stops you buying the same box twice.
